Arboretum Visit

Pack 24 is going into the woods! You’re invited to come along for a tour of the Conn College arboretum,  Wednesday, Oct 5th, beginning at 5:00.  The tour should last about an hour, and scouts will bring something special home with them.  Free of charge. If you plan to come along, please RSVP on the Facebook page or with your den leader ( if you haven’t already signed up). Parking is available on Williams Street, New London, in front of the arboretum.

Camping at Rocky Neck September 24th

Here’s a little information about our upcoming camping trip.  This is a pack camping activity, which should be a leisurely event, and fun for the boys.
I will be checking in with the gate early, with camper info.  This allows us to set up a couple tents per site. Cost is $10 per family (or per tent). We just need the name of the person checking in, and the make , model, color , and license plate number of your vehicle.  Tell them you are camping with the cub scouts, (with Becky Miller, if they ask).
We can be leisurely about food too, but I’d like to propose we coordinate a potluck style dinner, for those who would like to join in. (Simple, like hot dogs).  Breakfast potluck of muffins, fruit would be easy.  You certainly may bring your own food, but can participate in the pack potluck too.  Sign up sheets will be at pack meeting.
Check in is anytime Saturday, but 3:00 is a good start for those who want to set up tents early, and start in on some webelos-led games around 4:00.
I’ll share more details at the pack meeting this Wednesday, but before I forget…bug spray. I’m personally not a fan of bug spray, but after walking around a few minutes today, I highly recommend some kind of repellent.
