Dear Scouts, Families, and Friends,
As we busily prepare for the holidays and New Year, it is an important time to count our blessings and consider those who are down and out. Hurricane Sandy, a struggling economy, and other misfortunes have impacted many families in the East Lyme area. As a result, Pack 24 is working with Care & Share to help make a difference in our community.
We are grateful to all who participated in the “Scouting for Food” drive in November! In December, we are trying to raise money to provide Christmas gifts for less fortunate boys and girls in East Lyme. Pack 24 has picked names of five children from the Giving Tree at Smith Acres and the gifts are due on Dec 14th. Please consider making a pledge on PayPal or in person to help our fundraiser effort. Feel free to forward the link to anyone who might be willing to contribute.
Also…as the weather gets colder, we are collecting gently used coats, hats, and mittens for Care & Share. We will be collecting these items at our Holiday Pack Meeting on December 20th (6:30PM at LBH). Thanks in advance for your kindness and consideration!
